Fall 2009

Attorney Ferry and Attorney Foley are preparing for a jury trial in New Britain. Our client sustained a permanent, painful foot injury as a result of a blasting accident at the Costco Store in Waterbury, Connecticut. Our client had just finished her Christmas shopping when she was struck by a rock which had been blasted through the roof. The Defense is that she injured her foot moments before the crash when she moved out of the way of another shopper. Thank goodness for the jury system where the rich and powerful corporations and insurance companies have their excuses, denials and lack of responsibility put to the test of reason, common sense, and fairness!

Leisa Moskowitz is entering her last year of college in the fall. Good luck Leisa!

Peter Billings, our newest firm member, is taking the Connecticut Bar Exam on July 27th, 2009. Good luck Peter!

Kim and Monique are going to become mothers shortly. Health and happiness to all!

Late July 2009

We are going to start a jury trial in an auto accident claim we filed against an Allstate insured. Allstate is refusing to accept responsibility for our client's injuries and even though our client was rear ended, it is denying liability. We would like to thank Allstate for the opportunity to obtain a sizeable verdict!

Attorney Foley was nominated and selected by her peers as a Connecticut Rising Star. This is a distinction given to not more than 2.5% of the under age 40 lawyers in the state. Congratulations Monique!

May 2009

We held an open house barbeque on May 28, 2009. We met a number of new people from the area and had a nice turnout of about seventy-five. The event was well received and everyone at the firm is to be commended for all of their hard work on this function!

As I hope you know, we have moved to New Britain. Our office is on the park across from the New Britain Museum of American Art in a historic area of grand 1800's homes. Thanks to our clients recommending their friends and families, we were able to triple the size of our office and locate in a more central location. This allows us better access to more Connecticut Courts.

You may not know that Connecticut has twenty Geographic Area (G.A.) courthouses. There are thirteen Judicial Districts in Connecticut with a total of sixteen main Judicial District (J.D.) court houses. Several J.D. Courts have separate courts for the housing sessions or family cases.

All but the most serious cases are heard in the Geographical Area Courts.

Landlord/tenant and small claims are normally heard in the G.A. Courts.

Administrative appeal, civil jury and civil non-jury cases are heard in Judicial District Courthouses.

We are available to represent injured persons anywhere in Connecticut.
